Post Care:

 Hair Removal

Tips & Tricks for Happy & Healthy Skin:

  • Whether it's your first hair removal experience or your 1,000th, post care is critical for each client during the four weeks we don’t see each other.

  • 24-48 hours after your waxing or sugaring appointment please refrain from any and all exercise, pools, hot tubs, saunas, sexy time, hot baths & please wear those comfy cotton undies!

  • The Vanity Room has partnered with Fur & Honey Comb Wax Co. to ensure every client has the aftercare that works best for them.  You will use your aftercare oil or cream on your pubic mound and bikini lines on a daily basis and always before a workout. Think of the oil or cream acting as a barrier between you and all the bacteria & sweat our bodies produce around that area.

  • Three days after your service please exfoliate 2-3x a week with an antimicrobial glove/mitt.  Think your loofah will do the job?  Think again!  Loofas are not antimicrobial and will cause further irritation since they are filled with bacteria.  Using your complimentary antimicrobial mitt, you will lightly scrub your pubic mound and bikini lines in a side to side and up and down direction.  Absolutely no circular motion, as this will irritate the follicle, potentially causing ingrown hairs and general irritation. Following these instructions will ensure that your skin stays smooth, hydrated and free of ingrown hairs, which are some of the most common problems after wax or sugar.

  • It is extremely imperative to wash "Girlfriend" or "The Boys" correctly.  Ladies, your girl is a self-cleaning oven....she knows how to clean herself!  Washing her with warm water is all she needs.  Soaps and scrubs cannot only throw off our pH, but they can be far too harsh and drying to our delicate skin.  Men, this applies to you as well.  We all want the softest, most hydrated skin that is ingrown free!

  • Please do not pick at any ingrown hairs that may arise, as this can worsen the problem.  I am here to safely, while staying in my scope of practice, use a lancet and retrieve those ingrown hairs.  If an ingrown hair arises please use a warm compress and shoot The Vanity Room an email for how to treat the ingrown safely.
